All Change

2006-2008

A project with Kelmscott Secondary School, located in Walthamstow, North London, alongside many of its feeder primary schools, that takes a fresh approach to the subject of pupil transition from Key Stage 2 to 3, (Primary School to Secondary School) with a particular focus on the continuity of vocal and music initiatives.

Work has included the establishment of a Year 7 choir, input into Year 7 schemes of work and All Change, a short opera composed by Year 7 pupils and performed by them to feeder primaries and in front of their peers at Kelmscott.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the opening of Cambridge’s St. Paul’s CofE Primary School, the 800th anniversary of Cambridge University and the 200th anniversary of the birthday of one its most famous sons, Charles Darwin, St. Paul’s School, is proposing to create a composition, music, writing, design and drama project based on a scientific Cambridge theme, which will involve the devising of a set of songs to be made into a new ‘opera’ alongside a large scale education project designed to become a resource for all Cambridge school children and young people.
